After much consideration I have finally decided on the three experiments I am going to carry out for project two. I have decided to do one that fits into glamour and two that fit into rebellion.
One: Rebellion
Sense being changed - Sound
While squeezing the toothpaste from the tube I am going to have loud heavy metal music playing while they complete the task. I think the results from this experiment will be very interesting as some people may enjoy it while others will most likely hate the music and become annoyed at its presence during such a quiet task of the day.
Two: Glamour
Sense being changed - See and Touch
To make this activity seem glamorous I have decided to cover the entire toothpaste tube in little diamonds. I know this is a very materialistic thing to do but I feel it could really change the way a person completes the task. I thoughts are that the person will handle the tube with a lot more care while completely it at a much slower pace, taking in all the detail of the tube.
Three: Rebellion
Sense being changed - Touch
To create my second rebellion experiment I have decided to cover the outside of the tube with small stones. This will most likely make quite a unpleasant task for the user as it would be very rough and certainly unenjoyable. I am not to sure as to how I am going to get the stones to stick to the tube but will decide on that when I get to starting my experiments. This one will be interesting as it will create a unpleasant task of something that we do on such a routine.
Plan for this assignment:
I plan on carrying out my experiments on at least 2-3 people to get the different reactions and thoughts. I will then choose the one that I feel has been most successful and interesting. I am not sure as to what 3 academic sources I am going to use at this stage but have certainly been looking online and the library database.
